A lifetime of photography

David's journey in photography traces back to his days as a Military Musician when he first embraced the art. While traveling, he made sure to carry his trusty 35mm film camera at all times. Immersed in his passion, he set up his own black and white darkroom, dedicating long hours to developing captivating images. David's thirst for knowledge led him to devour every available resource, whether it was books or magazines, to learn and refine his techniques.

During the 1990s, David found inspiration from renowned photographers who were part of the Richmond (North Yorks) camera club, where he was an active member. Observing and experimenting with various techniques, he gradually honed his skills to perfection.

Eventually, a pivotal moment arrived when a close friend, Joffy, insisted that David shoot his wedding. This experience ignited David's realisation that his true calling lay in crafting distinctive, natural, and artistic images, whether for portraits or on wedding days. Weddings soon became a favorite platform for him to display his talents.

Following ten successful weddings, David pursued formal training in 2008 at Annabel Williams' training school, which prompted the birth of "Expressive Photography," his professional identity in the Nottingham area. Committed to continuous improvement, he engaged in further studies and collaborated with fellow photographers to expand his expertise.
